Like most women, I love seeing a well manicured hand! Unfortunately for me, I have worked in a food production plant for the last 15 years! Nail polish is a definite “no” in food service! I managed to have my toes done, but that was it! Now that I no longer work there, I can now have my nails done regularly!
Enter Color Street
Shortly before leaving my job, I discovered Color Street Nail Polish strips, instant LOVE! So simple to apply! Especially for someone like me, who can’t sit still long enough to let nail polish dry! It seemed like I always had to go to the bathroom right as I was finishing up! Then I had to touch them up! That isn’t the case for Color Street! So I would apply them just for the weekend, and then take them back off before going back! That got tiresome, too! It seemed like I had to work really hard to get some of them off!
Then I discovered this!
This technique takes about 10 minutes to do, but is super easy! All you need is cotton swabs, nail polish remover, and aluminum foil. Yes, aluminum foil! I think that is what actually makes it so effective! It reminds me of getting my hair highlighted, where they put on the color, then wrap it in aluminum foil. This probably works on the same principle. And since Color Street is REAL nail polish, I would think this principle would work on normal manicures as well. But since I only use Color Street, that’s all I can vouch for! Feel free to give it a try!
Let’s get started!
Gather up everything you need. Tear the foil in to strips. I used roughly a 6 to 8 inch piece, then tore it in to 5 smaller pieces. You need enough to be able to wrap around your finger. Wet your cotton swab, and put it on your nail. Cover the swab with the foil strip, with the foil lined up with the bottom of the swab, then wrap it around your finger. Seal up whatever is hanging out over the top of your finger, by bunching it up. Let this sit for 10 minutes. When you take it off, just twist back and forth a few times, then slide it off! Done! You may see a small amount left on your nail, but most times, it all comes off! I especially like doing this with the glitter ones! If I’m redoing my toes, too, I work on them while I’m waiting.
There you go! Ready for your next application!
