Have you heard of Color Street Nail Strips, and how easy they are to apply? Let me tell you all about them!
Color Street Nail Strips are simply, amazing! I discovered these nail strips and instantly fell in love! Instantly! I love seeing well manicured hands (toes, too). Unfortunately, I’m not good at applying nail polish! Plus, I don’t have the patience to sit and wait for my nails to dry. I always end up smudging them, almost instantly! Talk about frustrating!!
Let me tell you about Color Street Nail strips!
Color Street nail strips are real nail polish! That’s right, real nail polish! But they are applied in strips and are dry to the touch, so there is no “drying” time. But, with that being said, they are still considered wet for about 10 minutes after application. This aids in the application process by giving it flexibility and stretch before it adheres to the nail base. They can also be lifted off and replaced if you don’t have them applied exactly right the first time. Readjust them, or gently stretch them, if needed, before you seal them down.
Each pack contains 14 strips, 2 prep pads, and a nail file.
The strips come in 8 different sizes, so you can find the one that is the closet fit to each finger. If you have shorter nails, you may be able to get your toes done, too! That just may take a little ingenuity, and some trimming. But it doesn’t take as much work as it sounds! Where else can you get a manicure and a pedicure, TWO times, for one low price? Value at it’s finest! Just be sure to seal the remainder of them for the next time. Being that they are real polish, they will dry out over time. This is especially important if you don’t plan on using them right away!
How long will they last
Under normal circumstances, they will last up to 14 days. I say this, because if you use your nail as a “tool”, they will not hold up as well on the tips. I usually get tired of mine before they get bad. Or my nail has grown so much, so that there is no polish at the end of my nail. So I can’t say the actual length of time they could last. Each individual is different, so the length of time will differ as well!
And did I mention that they are made in the USA!
They come in solids, glitter, glitter designs, solid and French. There is such a wide variety, I’m sure you’ll find something you like. Also, there are seasonal colors available for limited times, too. And they remove with regular nail polish, too! They are real nail polish after all!
To apply, simply take the clear protector off, then the nail strip, and place them on your finger.
Let me back up a minute
Since I’m getting ahead of myself, let me back up just a little!
To start, make sure your hands are clean. Prepare your cuticles by pushing them back and/or trimming as necessary. Use the provided nail file to smooth out any rough edges on your nail. Finish up, by wiping your nails off with one of the prep pads. Don’t skip this step. I have been in a hurry and skipped this step, and they don’t seem to hold up as well! I don’t bother doing all of this with my toes, though! They don’t get the abuse that our hands get, so they last longer on your toes.
Try them on for size
Find which strip matches your pinky finger first. Start with that finger, then work your way around, finishing up with your thumb. I do the same finger on each hand before moving on to the next one. This way, you have both thumbs free until the very end.
Peel off the clear protective covering first (see picture above). Then peel the polish off at the end with the silver strip.
Line the strip up with your nail. When you are satisfied with the placement, smooth it down in the center with your thumb, then smooth down the sides. Trim the excess off with your thumb, by pushing under your thumb nail. This will “cut” it enough to pull it off. Tear off the flat part that is on the opposite end, and do your other hand.
You can trim and shape each one as you go, or go back and do them all at the end. If you have some hanging over the edges along the sides, trim it the same way, using your thumb nail to “cut” it. If it doesn’t quite fit to the edge, gently stretch it before smoothing it down. Once you start smoothing it down, it will start to adhere and may tear if you try to peel it off.
There they are! Sit back and admire your handiwork! And you can tell everyone that you did it yourself!
