What is Chalk Couture?
Chalkboard art is one of the hottest trends right now! Everywhere you look, if you’re searching for any trending decorations, Chalk art will most likely show up! Chalk Couture is a chalk paste used on various surfaces.. Use it on chalkboards, wood, canvas, metal, vinyl……anything you can think of! It’s so fun to experiment on different surfaces! Hobby Lobby and Michael’s both have a huge selection of surfaces you can use! And they have SALES all the time! Who doesn’t love a bargain?
Ink is used on fabrics such as clothing or pillows, and sometimes on metal or ceramic. Ink will be permanent once it has dried and heat set. Heat setting is done with an iron on clothing, or in an oven for ceramics or pottery.
Plus, Chalk Couture is so much fun to do! Easy, too! And it will be trendy at the same time! Look around! You’ll see chalkboard art almost any where you look! Now you can get that same look. Plus, you can say “I did that myself”! You can amaze your friends and family with your creativity! Great for gift giving, too! And you don’t have to have any kind of artistic talent! All you need is the desire to create and have fun doing it! My favorite part is pulling the transfer off and seeing the actual creation I made! Won’t you join me?
Chalk Couture design.
Chalk Couture has been around for a while, but yet most people have never heard of it! I know I hadn’t, until a group I am in mentioned it. Of course, I had to check it out for myself! There are so many different designs, you are sure to find something that suits your style and decor.
While the chalk paste does dry quick, you can remove it to change the design, if you want, or seal it to make it permanent. The paste is available in a wide variety of colors, from the light pastels, to dark shades. It requires such a small amount of paste to do each product, so a little goes a long way! One jar will last long enough to do plenty of projects Just be sure to keep it closed when you’re not using it.
Keep the transfers clean, and you will get many, many uses out of them!
Choose Chalk, or choose INK!
There is also ink, which is permanent once it dries. The ink can be used on material, such as pillows, shirts, ceramics, and metal. It does take a little longer to dry than the chalk, so be patient with it. Ceramics, such as mugs, need to be baked in the oven to set the ink. On material, all you need to do is let it dry, then iron it to heat set it!
There are many different surfaces available to chalk on, too. Anything from small metal circles, to extra large framed chalkboards. Mix and match the transfers to make your own unique design! How great is that?
If you like to change your decor to match the seasons, this is perfect for you! New transfers are added often. The transfers coincide with the time of year! Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Independence Day, Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring, Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving……you name it, there is probably a transfer for it. Obviously, they aren’t all available all of the time! Some get retired so they can add something new!. I have seen 6 different seasonal changes since I joined, and have loved all of them! No, I haven’t purchased them all, but I’d sure like to.
