Christmas Decorating with Chalk Couture is fun and easy! And right on point right now!
Decorating using Chalk Couture
I love using Chalk Couture transfers for decorating! I had done quite a few with Halloween transfers, and everyday, too! But then they released the Holiday ones for Christmas, New Year’s, and Winter!
Now, one thing you need to know, I like Halloween, but I LOVE Christmas! Everything about Christmas brings me pleasure! Decorations, music, wrapping gifts, and shopping for those gifts! So, investing in these particular designs was a no brainer! SERIOUSLY! Some of these finished items are available for purchase in my Etsy shop, too, just fyi!
But something else! I hate winter! Just the cold…..and ice…..and snow……and no leaves on the trees……and the cold…..and the ice….and January…..and February! Need I say more? I can handle it until Christmas is over, then bring me warm weather! But I’ll move on now!
Chalk Couture is simply amazing! No talent is needed to do these! All you need is enough of an imagination to pick your color choices! And it’s QUICK, too! While the chalk dries quickly, it can be washed off, if you prefer. Just don’t seal it when you are finished! If you want it to be permanent, find a clear paint (in whichever finish you like). I like Matte, because it looks more natural, in my opinion! But a Gloss finish would look just as nice!
Ink, on the other hand, is permanent once it dries and is heat set! With the slower drying time, you have a little bit more leeway with how fast it needs to get done!
I would suggest practicing with the Chalk paste first! But only because it can be washed off, if you’re not happy with how it turns out! It will clean off with a Clorox or Lysol wipe, whether wet or dry!
Some of my Projects!
My absolute favorite, up to this point, is my “Joy to the World” one. This particular project was finished with a rustic 8 x 10 frame, then I added jute, ribbon and a flower, just for that little “extra”! I used Ink on fabric for the image itself!
The “Joyful Christmas” was done on a wooden ornament decoration that I found at Hobby Lobby! I could spend HOURS in that store, but that’s another story! I just painted it red, then put the design on after it was completely dry!
Another Hobby Lobby purchase, was this chalkboard easel. I did one side with a Halloween design, then this side for Christmas! This way I get to keep it out for 2 different holidays!
My “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” was also done on a purchased chalkboard! Guess where I got it?!?!? Well, Hobby Lobby, of course! I’m telling you….I just love that store! And I’m not getting anything from them for saying this! Go in when they have sales, and they can’t be beat! I did some of these for Halloween, too, and plan on doing some everyday ones, too!
Decorating with Chalk Couture
Chalk Couture has so many different design transfers to pick from! If you enjoy being crafting and if you ever thought of “Kit-napping”, this would be one I would highly recommend! If you don’t know what that is, or what I mean by that, read “What is Kit-napping – Why Do It“. I explain it in that post!
If you have any questions, contact me, and I’ll gladly answer your questions! And the requirements for staying active are minimal, too! Just think of the possibilities! Make some extra cash by making and selling, or just purchase for your own use! The choice is yours!
Follow me on Instagram and Pinterest! Check out my Etsy shop! And if you’re on FaceBook, I use my “Wanda Kissel – Business Page” to keep updates about the direct sales that I do. And to see some of the other designs, read “Christmas Decorations Using Chalk Couture“. I know, almost the same title, but projects I did earlier are shared in that one! Consider this one an “update”. Or chalk it up to short term memory! (See what I did there? Chalk It Up…..which also happens to be the name of my site!) Genius at work!
